Terms of Service

Clear terms for using the friendAI app.

These Terms govern your use of the friendAI app. They are written to make the license, the risks, and the liability boundaries explicit.

Effective April 5, 2026

01

Acceptance and scope

These Terms of Service are between you and the developer identified on the app's store listing, and they apply to your use of the friendAI app.

By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

02

License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the friendAI app for personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, sell, sublicense, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app except to the extent that applicable law clearly permits it despite this restriction.

03

Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the app through Apple's App Store, your use may also be subject to Apple's applicable store terms and Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, to the extent those terms apply and are not inconsistent with these Terms.

04

Eligibility and your responsibilities

You must be at least 13 years old and otherwise legally capable of agreeing to these Terms.

You may use friendAI only in compliance with applicable law and only in ways that do not violate the rights or safety of others.

You are responsible for your device security, your local backups, any content you enter into the app, and any decisions you make based on output generated by the app.

  • You may not use the app to break the law, infringe intellectual property rights, harass people, distribute malware, or create or share unlawful or harmful material.
  • You may not attempt to interfere with the app, bypass technical restrictions, or use the app in a way that could damage the product or other users.

05

Local-first design and data loss risk

friendAI is designed to run primarily on your device. That means you are responsible for the security and availability of your device, local files, and any backups you choose to make.

If you delete local files, lose access to your device, uninstall the app, or fail to maintain your own backups, your data may be permanently lost.

06

Your content

You retain whatever rights you have in the content you input into the app and in the local content you create through your use of the app.

These Terms do not give us ownership of your local content, but you are solely responsible for that content and for any consequences of creating, storing, sharing, or relying on it.

07

Third-party services and platform features

Some app functions may depend on third-party services or platform features, such as model downloads from a third-party host or Apple-provided features like device authentication or image generation.

We are not responsible for third-party services, third-party terms, third-party outages, or your use of external platforms or content delivery providers.

08

No professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice

friendAI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or inappropriate output.

The app is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including medical, mental health, legal, tax, financial, or emergency-response advice. You should independently review output before relying on it.

09

Intellectual property

The friendAI app, its branding, and all related intellectual property are owned by their respective owners and licensors.

These Terms do not give you ownership of the app or its branding. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your right to use the app if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use creates legal risk, security risk, or harm, including by ceasing to offer or update the app or by removing it from distribution.

You may stop using the app at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity.

11

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available."

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and quiet enjoyment.

We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that outputs will be accurate, useful, or suitable for your needs.

12

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer identified on the app's store listing and, if applicable, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, device access, or business interruption arising out of or related to your use of the app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of the developer identified on the app's store listing and, if applicable, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers for all claims arising out of or related to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose or USD $50.

13

Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developer identified on the app's store listing and, if applicable, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or related to your content, your misuse of the app, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

14

Changes and availability

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or remove parts of the app at any time, with or without notice.

If we change these Terms, we will post the updated version and revise the effective date. Your continued use of the app after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
